Hi everybody, new member here, thank you for allowing me to join, I am really a metal worker but do woodwork as and when required to keep 'her indoors happy' :-)
I recently purchased a Midsaw Minor Deepthroat Toolroom bandsaw, it is a decent size, 36" throat, variable speed from 50'/min to 4000'/min via a two speed gearbox with variable speed drive via V belts, all is relatively fine, the issue I have is (apart from no 'words and music') the two VSD belts, they are marked as Hainsworth P564 MK 111, and Hainsworth P534 MK 111, I am not sure these are the correct spec, I say this because the two fixed pulleys are the same groove section, the motor pulley is only some 3" OD, the gearbox end is about 10" ( I have not measured the diameter) the motor end belt is very worn both on the edges and thickness, it runs on the base of the groove and is +/- 0.990" wide. The other belt is only just over 1" wide with no real visible wear to the edge of the belts, but what makes me think these belts are not correct is that the width of the top of the groove is 1.125" wide. to be precise the groove is 1.125" top width, 0.861" at the bottom and 0.5395 vertical depth.
There must be more of these things out there? anybody know more?

As this is a metal cutting band saw you’d be better off asking this in the metal forum.
The guys there could probably tell from your dimensions what the vee belts should be.

It sounds like they’re the right belts but just worn beyond acceptable use. I’d take them to a belt specialist and see if the can match them. They will know all the cross references between brand names etc.
