View Full Version : Is this metal galvanised?

I have purchased a range of gym equipment to be kept outdoors.

All of the equipment is galvanised. Or at least, I asked the company for all the equipment to be galvanised.

However, one of the bars looks and feels different to the rest of the equipment. Whilst everything else arrived looking shiny and feeling very smooth to the touch. This one bar looks very dull by comparison and is quite rough to tough by comparison.

Is this likely to mean this bar hasn’t actually been galvanised like everything else has? I’ve had it outside for a few weeks now, it has rained several times, and doesn’t seem to be rusting yet - so maybe it is galvanised. However, I wouldn’t have expected one item to have a very different finish to the rest.

Have hopefully attached photos of two different bars to see the difference. Although, not sure the difference comes out as clearly in the photo.

Thanks for any insight.
