If I heat this cast iron clamp to red hot where needed to bend the casting back straight, is it best to just let it air cool on the floor?
Would quenching in cold water make the cast iron brittle like it would to a carbon steel spring?
Is cooling it slow by burying it in sand or ash going to make it softer so it would bend more easy when in use?
