Plenty of storage is one way to help keeping the workshop tidy. These cabinets are pretty easy to make but it did take a bit of time. I used a lot of off cut and MDF to minimize the cost. MDF is really woeful stuff and I have had enough of it.

It started 18 months and the garage wasn’t even built. I got the floor plan and used the workshop planer (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=15102)on the Grizzly website to organize the shop. Buying the machines was fun. I built a 2-stage dust bin (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=18664)which improves the efficiency of the dust collection system (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=21035). Building the workbench (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=22349) and tool cabinet (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=23568)was quite an experience and it was well worth the effort.

Well I hope you had fun sharing the journey with me. And hopefully some of you will find it helpful.:)

Looking Good Scott.

You will fill them though and then you will need more and more and more .... unless you stop buying tools.;)

I can only see two things yet to do mate....

1. Paint the walls white - would help a lot I think.

2. Replace the basketball poster with a Penthouse calendar - my better half tells me it's not a workshop unless there's a girlie calendar on the wall :)

Now go make something!

Stop buying tools? Wash your mouth out for such heretical statement!

Looks great - alas still renting so my stuff has to be a tad more portable.

Very nice setup Wongo. Love all the nice machinery, cabinets, and the open, functional layout.

Do you think it might be a bit premature to call this the "finale" though?

But Zen what’s left for me to do in woodworking?:p

G'day Wongo,

Thanks for the perv into your workshop, very nicely done.

You've spurred me to get my wall mounted cabinet built to hold similar stuff, but have to fit in with the toys I'm making, the fact that I should be staying put between 9-5 in the office and get my work done instead of going down to the shed and doing other stuff.

Also stumbled across the thread you started, "2-stage duct collection kit" which is another project I have to get around to.

Thanks for those posts Scott. It's been most enjoyable seeing your playroom and toys. Now we look forward to seeing lots more goodies coming out of it.

PS. I've used some of the myrtle & blackwood in boxes, still some to go...thanks.
