Hi,
I just got my first mill (without a chuck) and I read that with round column mills you don't want to move the head too much (also that collets can have problems with end-mills slipping) and someone mentioned that they "developed" 3/8" drill shank tooling and used a (side lock?) tool holder so they could swap out end-mills, drill chucks and edge-finders.
I'm trying to decipher this (could someone provide more detail?) to work out if its feasible and desirable for a beginner to go down this path?
If this makes sense would I be looking for side lock tool holders in MT3 with threads for a 1/2" x 12tpi drawbar, where would I get something like that?
Thanks.
