View Full Version : Motor Mounting Ideas Needed

I've a G L Sheraton surface grinder, made in Heidelberg Rd Fairfield, similar to this one;
https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/09517970.
Trying to work out how the motor is/was mounted to it, there's no holes on the head that indicates the motor was mounted to it, but there are some 1/4" threaded holes on the main body. It may have even been driven off an overhead shaft.
So I'm looking for ideas to mount the motor to it, would drilling and tapping the head be the only option?
Planning on running the multi fin belt, what ever they're called, similar to the belts on modern vehicles.
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and fabrication is not a problem.
Haven't got my camera here ATM, so I'll post a few pics tomorrow.
Thanks in advance.
Kryn
