Gday All.
I have a Dickson quick change tool post (model S2) on my lathe which is a little too big for the machine.
This creates a lot of tool overhang, and, as I only have 4 tool holders, sort of defeats the purpose of having a qctp.
With the asking price for extra holders being up there with used Space Shuttles, I wont be buying extras.
So I've been thinking about changing to a different TP.
I think this size (T63) would be more suitable for my lathe and this set has 25mm holders.
Has anyone had any experience with this brand of Indian gear (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/165113264994?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110013%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIMRXI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D255896%26meid%3De37e9617ef9347ef8e2a188495ee888e%26pid%3D101196%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D164395777091%26itm%3D165113264994%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D4429486%26algv%3DPromotedRVIPbooster&_trksid=p4429486.c101196.m2219&amdata=cksum%3A165113264994e37e9617ef9347ef8e2a188495ee888e%7Cenc%3AAQAIAAAA8JsbtOKd5uIU0OgsJNCgXCMLoapRQ8sLeCyz%252BrFRaxEqrDwT8bXmcH%252FWgeE0pPfcgIrv8zzKrKZyevxFzN1h1bXQrp6xzrKW7KpFi0T0A0awNV4DSHvSkhgVVIuuMhLvrk2SqgvRMi7nxUq%252BuD6SxXkdH%252B%252FJR%252BMWDgGaaXhbJncjEuSJ4NpmN%252FUVd2iVE4QJGx5DDVn71w1qM5gDyTYH6lzmoAHU%252BJQGaK6ESAS1VSsHnrkvWBpgv0CgTLDOSC2cqcx%252BpRLL2PcV8Odi%252Fhyrtby9SI1SIwpPA5cNFA0PC6OR8WS8LQ9R1XCm2m0r4wE6ng%253D%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A4429486)?
Still only thinking about it. QCTP is nice but with the one of have atm, I still have to change tools and reset the tool height.
It isn't really that much quicker than just using the old std 4 way post, if I keep the correct shim/packers with each tool.
Thoughts ?
Peter
