Hi, does any know where i can get bags made from either clear vinyl or clear polyurethane for a vacuum press.
So far my search has lead me overseas and not in Australia. Bag size is roughly 1380x 3000 to do table tops but smaller is fine and really I know just about zero on the subject other than polyurethane bags cost quite a bit more than vinyl bags. I should say welded on 3 sides
TIA.

I can't really help, but if nobody comes up with any suggestions, you could try contacting Nick Pedulla from Pedulla Studio. He makes extensive use of large vacuum bags for his work and is based in Sydney. Below is a video of his where he laminates and uses a vacuum press. (around the 7m+ mark for the bags.) From memory, this process is repeated several times during the video.

(26) Wood Isn't Supposed To Do This! - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZOY9DBXprI)

My understanding is that increasingly he really only produces work for his videos as that is his revenue path more than the work itself. Consequently, he may well be keen to pass on a name if they are a sponsor.

Hopefully, somebody here will have a contact for you.

Regards
Paul

I got mine made up at Residential, Commercial & Industrial Tarps | Lidcombe, NSW (https://www.nanstarps.com.au/) in Sydney. And a fraction of the cost of the online ones. 1500mm(slightly under after edge glued) wide by any length you desire. Was a couple years ago but under $200 from memory for 1500mmm by 2000mm.
If your the Melbourne Box Hill maybe a similar place somewhere down there.
