Just wondering if anyone can suggest a good book or books that describe Australian timbers with good photos showing grain and colour etc. to assist with identification.
I’ve had a read of the threads in this (the Timber Species Guide) section of the forum without really finding what I’m looking for.

Morris Lake's two books cover the common species most woodies would see.

Australian Forest Woods describes about 130 of the most significant Australian forest trees and their wood.

Australian Rainforest Woods describes 141 of the most significant Australian rainforest trees and their wood.

Thanks, I’ll check them out.
Have you or other forum members seen “The Australian Timber Buyers Guide”, any good?
