Hi all,
I have just started experimenting with wood turning, so far all I have managed to destroy are a few peices of radiata pine. I have been offered some green (wet) yellow box as well as a few other species to experiment with.
To dry the timber out I was thinking of building a drying kiln out of ply or melamine, with the heat source being one ( or two ) 100 watt lamps.
The dimensions I have in mind are a box of 1m x .5m x .75m. in size, with holes in the base and top on opposing sides to facilitate some sort of air flow.
Has anyone else attempted or been successful in drying timber?
Kev.
