What do you think a 3 year old rotex with no warranty is worth? It has been used to take the paint off the side of weatherboard house.

New about $750 without systainer, if the pad is buggered you are up for about another $75, probably about $400 depending on condition (aesthetic).
Have a look at ebay and see what is on offer.
Generally thay are pretty bullet proof and take a fair amount of abuse without complaint.
Had mine for over 5 years now and never missed a beat.

I have been offered a new machine with systainer (now superseded model) for $650
The retailer however sings the praises of the new model machine, more power, better dust proofing, better drive mechanism etc.

I think I paid 680 for mine and the systainer was an extra 100, should have waited 5 years:rolleyes:

There is a demonstrator model being sold by a dealer on ebay right now for $400.00 opening bid. I paid close to that for a used one.

The Rotex is one of the best tools in my shop-even my wife likes using it.
