ss_11000 29th March 2006, 07:22 PM hi I am tring to make a new bench for my lathe or cut the legs of the old bench
can you take the bench apart and run the legs thru a table saw or something to shorten them.
another alternative is to turn four legs and use the old bench top or make a new top?
ps its good to see another young(er) person on here:)
Jim Carroll 30th March 2006, 07:37 AM Tunnel as the father of 2 teenage boys do not cut the lathe bench down to suit your height now because in 6 months time it will be too short.
You are at the begining of growth spurts and every 6 months your parents will be buying you new school pants because you have outgrown the last pair.
Make a more suitable platform to stand on that will give you room to move on.
soundman 30th March 2006, 01:07 PM see if you can grab hold of a palet from somewhere.
Cut it down, fill in the gaps.
Helo uncle bob!
of have you considerd platform shoes:D
cheers
