Arrived at my old man's for Easter to find he had filled the trailer with offcuts so I could drive him to the tip. He hasn't worked any wood since the stroke 2 years ago so he's starting to clean up the shed. I couldn't bear to throw all of it but had to leave room in the ute for the Camphor slabs he was giving me. The Camphor platter (pic 1) and the lidded box in Rosewood (pic 2) I made from some of the offcuts since I got back - I nearly cry when I think of the rest of the pieces we threw out.:(
The other pieces I squeezed in during the Easter break also...
Pic 3 - More of that Coolibah burl in a Desert Ash stand (ebonised;) )
Pic 4 - African mahogany platter for Woody1
Pic 5 - Lidded pot in Budgeroo. Absolutely the best kept secret in woodturning - amazing stuff to work with - love it!

 Thank Ghu you salvaged what you did... you've made some lovely pieces there! Trash offcuts? [shakes head] Some people. :(

Yeah, Budegeroo is great wood to work with, Brigalow is pretty much the same too. A tad hard on the tools but well worth the effort.

Tried sending a greeny but... :o

G'day TITT,

For me, it's the rosewood piece, pic 2, is the best - simple in design and elegant.
