G’day mates

Today, at last, I built a sled for cutting 45* angles for frames.
Its not something new, we saw it in many forms and ideas.

What I did not see, in any of the sleds, is how or where to position the frame member to cut it at 45*, so I made small “patent” that will help me to position all the members precisely at the same position for every cut. I called it in the pictures “extra piece with fence”.

The first pictures will show how I built the sled. As 45*, I’m using a big triangle dedicated to this sled.
You can also use this sled as a “normal” sled by attaching longer fence to the existing short one.

On the second part of the pictures, I made an actual cutting of a frame.

OK, I’m talking too much, lets go to work.

Regards
niki

Oh, you wanted comments?

Sorry Niki. I never saw your first post. It's a neat way to remove some possibility of error due to mis-marking by using the extra piece with the fence attached.

I don't use a table saw much, but if I did, I would use this method I think. Simple.

Take care, Mike

Hi Niki,

Didn't see this before - your jig makes some very nice tight mitres. Then again, so does my Incra 1000Se (see a review at http://www.newwoodworker.com/reviews/incra1000servu.html)

Nice job anyway mate!

Thanks niki for the very detailed jig imformation, I'll put this one on my list of jigs to make. I'm going to make a new crosscut sled for the triton, so I'll see if there's a way I can incorporate your one into it. If noy, I'll make it separately.:)
