Hey guys,

I bought a Carbatect Drill press (the 16 speed one) yesterday, its all assembled except i dunno what this piece is for!
i have scanned the instructions with a pic of it. it says its the "arbor and wedge".
i am asking about the one on the right of the pic. its just a piece of steel, about 2-3mm thick, in that shape.

Have a look about half way down this (http://www.beautifuliron.com/mttaper.htm) page and you'll see a bloke in a red flano using one.

If you mean the piece on the right, it's called a drift. It is used for loosening morse tapers so that you can remove whatever it is you have in the taper. The drill chuck will be on a taper and the drift is to remove it if you need to.
