serious burl turning

I have seen his work before, but never realised how ENORMOUS those pieces are. Yes....where does he get these burls???

Not my favorite style, but very impressive skills nevertheless.

G'day Ern,
A few years ago my brother & I were travelling to West Wyalong from Sth. Oz via Mildura / Wentworth, through the town of Gol Gol. On the R.H. side of the road was a little second hand shop ( I think ) that had this Humongous eucalypt burl leaning against a wall or piece of machinery, I don't remember exactly as it was back around 1999 / 2000. I think that it was about 6 - 7 ft. high & about the same measurement across & 2½ - 3ft. thick. I nearly fell out of the whoopie when I saw it, thought that I'd died & gone to woodturners heaven. Not a blanky trailer within cooee of the place. :(
Might pay to go for a drive Ern, just take a big trailer & a fifty ton crane to lift it. :D;) Should give the Stubby a bit of a run.
