Hey guys,
I m looking for a 1/2" to 6mm adaptor/bushing for my router.
my router only has 1/2" and 1/4" collets, and i can't get a 6mm collet for it. obviously i want it to use 6mm router bits with it!!
Do u guys know who sell them?
Are there any disadvanatages and/or dangers of using these adapters?
Cheers:)

I believe that WoodRat sell them (and have as agents here Timbecon, MIK and Carba-tec - I think).

that was my first thought too, Steve, when i read Inferno's request, but i checked my woodrat manual and they have the 8mm and 1/4 inch collets. and i believe carbatec WA is the official agent. its bloody hard to find stuff for the 'rat there now since they combined all the carbatec stores websites together a couple of months back. back to the topic of the thread, any of the above suppliers would be as good a start as anywhere but probably not as a woodrat accessory

G'day
You might try "Carb-i-tool"
If they cant help they should be able to set you straight.

I just noticed in my Makita Router book that they sell a 6mm reducer as an accessory.

Maybe the Triton one may work for you.

This must be a popular question, I'm certain I've posted this info to a similar Q.
Lee Valley sell 6mm, 8mm, 1/6"(6.35mm) adapters/collets for 1/2" routers. takes about a week to get here by air mail.

Ian: I get the 6mm cutters from overseas. Dad gets them for me when he is travelling.
I have Carbi-tool, McJing, and Timbecon and none of them have it.
Looks like Lee Valley is the go then!
Cheers guys! :)

Dad gets them for me when he is travelling. If your router or a very similar one is sold in the places where your dad picks up the 6mm cutters, he should also be able to get a 6mm collet for it. Especially if the router is a name brand like Makita, Bosch, etc.
