Here's a book that may interest anyone interested in working with green wood. The book covers step by step whittling birds (mainly roosters) from green fork sticks.
You must use green wood as the tail is actually carved while the wood is green so that you can make the curling cuts before the wood becomes to stiff or brittle.
As I was saying in another thread it's amazing how easy the wood is to whittle while it is still green. Anyway for those interested it's worth having a look at. Cheers, Joe.
