Beautiful work, Alex. I couldn't start to imagine the patience required for the fret work.

PS Ta for Purpleheart, finished splines today. It does go dark!

Incredible! This forum sits quited for days - then within a few hours of each other two members post pictures of exquisite top-notch boxes.

Very inspirational, Alex. I like the way the filigree gives this box a very delicate look.

Super job, Alex!:)

How on earth did you do that filigree? It looks so delicate and sinuous, and gives the box a very unusual and beautiful feature.

Very nice box Alex. Are you just using glued mitres?

Thanks all. The design for the top was just sketched out by hand and cut on the scroll saw. Lots of sanding and shaping, and the GMC Dremel rip-off threw in the towel. The filligree is glued to the lid panel, but not to the sides.

The mitres are just glued, but still thinking about putting in splines.
