This has been answered many times but, before the grumpy old men get at you ....
pics need to be less than 100kb with the longest dimension about 680 to 1000
when you are in the write or reply screens go to 'manage attachments' and this will allow you to browse, locate and load your images,

I figured out the pics alright, but I can't get my personal thumbnail in there even though its tiny, 100 x 75, what am I not doing right?

I think you will find it has to be no bigger than 80 x 80
