It might be too much of a load on the triton to cut so deep.. I'd suggest finding someone with a bandsaw to cut it for you. If all else fails take them to a cabinet maker for splitting.

i also recommend a mate with a bandsaw for resawing. mind u you'll need some hp for thast size jarrah - i reckon a 3hp unit will do the job. a pusy little 14 incher wont be much fun though.

cheers

Your thinkin of getting 4 pieces of each post 30mm thick?
You'd get 4x 24~26mm thick depending on the saw kerf, bsaw would get you 28~29mm... but this is rough sawn time its been dressed expect 20~26 depending on the saw and any warping/twisting resulting from cutting it!

Bandsaw definitely the way to go.

You could resaw it on the Triton - 1 cut at 30mm depth, flip it over, 30mm from the other side. Set depth to max (about 64mm) and do both cuts again. You could do it in 2 cuts, but why push the limits when it isn't necessary.

The finish will be alright, but highly recommend you head down to Bunnings and hope they have one of those $199 GMC thicknessers to tidy it up.

It would be interesting to see what feed speed you could get.
