Hi everyone,

Could someone let me know the best way to add photos? I've tried a couple of times but some of my pics are 1+Meg pixels and don't seem to make it.

Thanks,

Rob

When replying go to manage attachments lower down on the page . A new window will open , But the max file size is 100 kb .

You will need to resize using another program like photo shop etc , if you don't have a program that will resize your pictures then a search asking for picture resizing or jpeg resizing will give you links to free programs to do this.

It's pretty easy.

1. Take photo.

2. Open the photo on your computer in whatever useful program you have.

2b. Crop the photo so that whatever you are trying to show fills the frame.

2c. Resize the photo to about 600-800 pixels wide quality about 70% and save. (Photoshop does this in one dialog under the File menu: 'Save for web')

2d. Make sure the file is less than 100kb. If not, re-open it and reduce the size or quality a little and try again.

3. Create message on ubeaut. Type your message, then scroll down. Click the button that says 'Manage Attachments'

3b. There is a new window with 5 empty images shown. Click the 'Browse' button and locate your 100k or less image saved in pt2. Repeat for any other images you wish to appear with this message.

3c. When finished selecting images, click 'upload' If all goes well, and ubeaut likes your images, you should now be able to 'Submit, your message...

Hi Flow,

The best way to resize images is to use Microsofts Image Resizer, its free from here. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Once installed just right click an image (or multipal images) and select a size option from small medium or large. A 1 meg picture even on large goes down to under 100kb

This program was posted by Bitingmidge some time back. If you go here and download the free program.

I have been using it ever since Biting posted it.

It is so easy to use. You just open your photo in JPEG Compress and just use the slider to reduce the photo to the required size. When you click on "Save As" it gives it the same name with "New" in front of it. So if you want to keep your original photo you can or you can just save it to the original name.

I usually change them to just under 100k e.g. 99k.

Does any one know if there is a free download to resize files that fits with the Apple.

Cheers Peter

Peter,

Apple comes with one - iPhoto.

Once you get the photo into iPhoto, you can select it in iPhoto and select 'Export' from the menu. It gives you options for sizing.

Other options, (I have not tried these, so your milage may vary)
