Hi regardless of the name, I am quiet young at this. So this is a test to see if I am doing the right thing. Great reading so far, have got some cool ideas. Renovating a Queenslander, have got some good timber, thinking of making furniture, has anyone got any ideas?

Where do you start? Do you have a bed? What is the ratio of time, renovation:making furniture? What are you able to make- breadboards, stools or tables?
You need to give us more info.

Welcome Old_goat.

I have some more questions for you. What sort of timber, what sort of tools ?

Carry on.

I think the timber is Mackay Cedar, is a reddish/brown colour. i am coffee table or tv cabinet, so far have made a tv table for my son and a computer table for the family computer. The timber is all stored undercover in the shed and if it was originally on the house is 70+ years old.
Tool wise i possess the basics in chisels, planes, jigsaw, sander and router.

Furniture is only bits of wood stuck together in different ways. You can do anything!

Deside on size, style, timber(got that) finish. Draw a plan, or get one from a book or on the net. Build it.
