A good post ,and thanks for that.

Will have a go at making this for my new scrollsaw too (chrissy present). Its a cheaper one but i'd say good enough for what i'll be doing with it. , you have anymore links to sites with good patterns for the beginner?

This plan makes a good scroll-saw stand though the dimensions may have to be adjusted as expected to suit your needs.
I have just made one out of jarrah and it would take an earthquake on the upper reach's of the richter scale to move it,it's a heavy sucker and ideal to dampen down any vibration of the saw not that there's much with the new beast I now have in my possession.
So go for it you scrollers out there if you have need of a good base .....consider 's above post.
Oh I forgot to mention that the pressed steel that was available for my saw came in at $160.00 inc GST,I reckon I made it a heap cheaper and no f...en GST.

Okay!! .. I have decided to stop procrastinating (was the fiance's decision, but we wont let her know that) and make this table for my scrollsaw. I just have a stupid question to ask first, do I make it at a comfortable height for me standing or sitting to use it???

Brett, I use a kitchen type stool and standing or sitting the height is about the same.

I do apologise David.it appears as though it is no longer available after searching and believing that it could still be there.

Its there as a pay to download plan $2.95US. Go to the link and click on woodstore. This is the one that used to be a freebie but I guess the demand was such that they decided to charge for it. At that price though its well worth it.
