The third jewellery box with a secret compartment for the family gave me some stick.
The corner mitres went belly up, so I made some corner mouldings and got myself out of trouble. In fact I am so keen on the new design I am going over to veneers and put the mouldings again on the next box. (I dont like veneers and motred corners)

So here are two pictures of the new box which has compartments with earrings in mind.

Awaiting the finish which is the usual for me.

Very elegant, John. A nice "get out of jail" manoeuvre!

Mind you, I should be a good boy in future and not get into anymore trouble;)

ss1100, shellac sealer and way is my usual, when I have got a few items todo.

I like the corners: they look great, and should be structurally sound.

Do you need tweezers to get the earrings out of those compartments (it's just they look a tad small to me)?

In the past I used to find ear rings a very suitable lead when playing postmans knock.

But these days I think I might resort to groping!
