I just met a guy, and bought a very old Stanley 5 1/2 from him. He showed me his plane collection, absolutely gob smacked. He would have 50 or so, all original and not restored.
There were planes I've never seen before, weird things that 'V' the sides of a trench, old Mathiesons with steel sole, timber handles like a tenon saw and brass upperworks, absolutely amazing.
He is moving and selling the lot on Ebay over the next few months.
Cause I'm a nice guy, anyone interested should add:
