Hi

I am considering whether to accept a recent request is to make a 480mm circular mirror frame to be fitted to the bulkhead in a yacht, the bulkhead is varnished timber (light teak).

I've no problem in producing a circular frame in one piece, from one block of Australian Red Cedar. I propose to finish the frame in Tung Oil.

As I see it the frame should be screwed to the bulkhead.

I am looking for help here as I have not made anything to be fitted to a yatch before, are the any hidden problems?

no probs use s/s screws and dont drill right through or they might get a coat hook 2 on the other side:eek: :)

Just make sure that the bulkhead in question is a structural one rather than a more flimsy partitioning one, else in heavy weather the bulkhead might flex a bit, which wouldn't do any favours to a mirror mounted on it. Bits of broken glass in a boat are a major PITA
