View Full Version : External speed control for routers

Hi all!
Some time ago, someone asked if there was an external speed control for his router. It set me to thinking, I went looking and here are the results.
In Nov 97 in a magazine called Silicon Chip there appeared an article about a 10 amp 240 volt motor speed controller. It promised control from zero to full speed, smooth low speed operation, good speed regulation under load, etc.
Further investigation showed that there is a kit made for this item and it is for sale from J Kar, an electronics retail company similar to Dick Smiths.
I think that the kit sells for around $100 dollars.
Hope this helps,
Les

Hi Mat,
I rang Timbercon in WA and was told that they no longer sell it.

Benny,
Yeah, I know - I just found the other threads on this topic a few hours ago. I seems this matter has already been flogged to death. Solved too!

Would the foot peddle off a sewing machine work?

Try McJings. They had some a couple of months ago in their on-line cattledog.

Cheers

Oops. Router speed controls that it, not sewing machine pedals
