I haven't seen any reference to whether this group has a presence at the Melbourne WWW show and I wondered if it is a clique within Woodturning circles?
This group has a presence in Victoria and I wondered why the promotion of Ornamental Turning is relatively low key.

By the way has anybody got the dates for Melbourne WWW show this year?

Yeah, I think the guys at the Brisi show will most lilkly be at the Melbourne show Johnno. I am sure they were based in Victoria. BUT don't qoute me on that! Was damn interesting watching them actually. I never really understood the difference between turning and ornamental turning until having a chat....

Cheers!

Shane.
The guys you saw could have been from the Peninsula Woodturners Guild here in Melbourne. If you look through their very good site which is linked under Woodwork Clubs(eyes left!) you will find they have a section on ornamental turning. Most of the ones I have met tend to be retired engineers to whom ordinary turning is far to small a challenge used as they are to the more precise operations of the metal lathe.
