Another idea from the magazines my Uncle gave me... Practical Woodworking Nov 93 (Pg 42).....

It is about 200mm long and 150mm wide and 70mm high and is made of cedar. The dividers are merbeu  . The sides were cut from two blocks of cedar on a bandsaw, then sanded down to size. I actually drew a plan in MS Word using the drawing function and used that as a template for the sides and the top and bottom.

I was planning on using 5mm concealed hinges for the lid, but felt the gap was too wide to allow it to open properly, so I opted for 2 smaller brass hinges.

The inside and bottom was sanded to 400 grit, and the outside to 1200 grit and then 2 coats of OrganOil.

Well done, I am sure it will be treasured for a long time to come. Good choice of timbers.

Nice work and an interesting construction, looks like a keeper to me.

Any more?

That's very nice. It seems the sides slope outwards slightly so I'm trying to work out how you got the angles on them for the top and bottom.

Very neat box Bully4!

It's nice to see a non-rectangular box now and again. How about some curved dovetails? :D
