Has anyone had experience installing a Smart tile drain (the square ones that you drop a piece of tile in the middle)?
I was going to install a drainage flange with the weep holes below the smart tile but was told that the smart tile won't fit in the flange. It was suggested that the way most people install the smart tile to ensure water below the mortar bed drains away is to put a 100mm pipe through the floor and waterproof down into that. Then run an 80mm pipe through the middle of the 100mm and connect that to the bottom of the smart tile (which has a 75mm sleeve). Any water that seeps through the tiles/ mortar will then find it's way down between the 100mm and 80mm pipes and onto the ground below. The house is suspended on stumps so I can't see this being a problem.

Anyone reckon this sounds like a reasonable solution????

Not familiar with smart tile drains, but that sounds just like the way a normal leak control flange works.
