Hi all
Can anyone please tell me what the angle is on the attatched oic of an entertainment unit. I have it about 20degrees but I don't want to guess it.
Alternatively - anyone know where I could get the plans for this (or something similar)
Thanks
Cheers

You'll find that the back is most likely 90degrees and the sides come straight off the wall at 90degrees so the front angle would be 45degrees and half of that is 22.5degrees. That is making the assumption that it hasn't been made to order, if it's stock standard those should be the standard angles.

Skew ChiDAMN!!

My guesstimation, taking that perspective into account, is that it's more like 45°±5° Or to be pernickety, 135° for the angle you have marked. ;)

Either way, 20° is waaaay out.

Thanks George (22.5) and Skid (45)...
But...
Which one of you's is right here...?
I built a scale mod outa scrap and measured the angle around 20degrees on the model...

The angle, as you have it shown, is obtuse (greater than 90deg), and will be 135deg, provided that the side comes off the wall at 90deg as mentioned previously, or you may call it 45deg i guess, depending on where you want to measure it, this will actually be 180deg less the previous 135deg leaving 45deg...

The side (shelfing) doesn't come off the wall at 90degrees - more like about 70degrees... The front (tv shelf) is 45degrees (projected from the wall, but only abt 36inches long) The shelfing part slopes away from the tv shelf but not at 45... hence my query...
Thanks

Would it be 67.5* not the 70*
This is then the 22.5* mentioned earlier.
Half of 45* which is [Obviously] half of 90*

A-Hah. . .
Thanks Ivan...
I only measured the angle from my little model...
67.5 seems to make sense to my non-mathematical brain...
I'll go with 67.5 / 22.5
Thanks to all

If the side comes away from the wall at less than 90deg, ie your 70deg??? then the previously mentioned 135deg will increase by the extra 20deg to now be 155deg, or the difference, depending on how you look at it, giving you 25deg, but if the thing is made as one would expect, you will be looking at 157.5deg or 22.5deg...

None of this matters unless you bother to acccuratly measure the angle of the side, and really, it can be anything that you want it to be, thats whats great about building your own stuff! :)

135° measured on the inside, 45° if measured from the projection of one side (called the deflection angle)

These units are designed to go in a corner (a definite NO NO acording to my SWMBO, however I digress) and are symetric about a centre line that bisects the corner. The short sides are either square to the walls or some angle less than 90°, the choice is yours when you do the design. If the angle with the side walls is say 75°, then the internal angle your interested in is 150° The maths is 360-(90+45+75) = 150

However, if you're thinking about using one of these units with a plasma or LCD, I suggest you think carefully because flat screens don't need the big void at the back that a CRT does.
