Western ceder?

Have heaps of western ceder offcuts,would they be much good for boxes. Iasume not.Any suggestions,what i could use it for:confused:

western red cedar thuja plicata. the closer the growth rings the better. use it inside a box as an insert or trays. it will provide a wonderful smell every time the box is opened
