O.K. So I asked this question on the wrong forum. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/redface.gif
Please, can anyone tell me a safe liquid to use to clean my bandsaw tyres which have collected a hard sticky residue, mostly from some sappy pinus radiata. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/frown.gif

John

I use a piece of abrasive paper about 150g to clean my bandsaw tyres.

With the blade removed, I switch on the saw and hold the abrasive against the bottom rotating wheel.
Don't try this with the blade fitted as it could be dangerous.
Clean the top wheel by hand with the saw
switched off.

cheers

G'day John - Really hot water with a bit of dish derergent in it. Soak it in and let it dry. Should just about fall off, if not use the sharp edge of a piece of timber as a scraper to remove it.

Nitro lacquer thinners also works the same as above. But a bit quicker and more costly.
