I've just inherited an oldish (60's?) Hordura bandsaw (2 wheel, cast iron frame & table) in OK to poor condition. Besides some surface rust, I think it probably needs rewiring (the motor runs!) and wheels rerubbered, as well as general tlc. Does anyone know anything about these machines (I've never heard of them); is it worth reconditioning, and if so, who in the Sydney area does this?

thanks

Hi,

I'm sorta in the same boat! Inherited a very old bandsaw that looks pretty solid (cast frame, etc). Can't say I know anything about the Hordura, but you'll find that Carba-Tec sell most of the common bits you'll need, i.e. rubber tyres for the wheels, guides, etc, etc.

Thanks Marz,
I've bought The Bandsaw Book (excellent), & I'll have a go at getting my (grandpa's) bandsaw back to working order. I'll let you know how I go.
