I'm building three guitars with varying degrees of difficulty. The first is complete. The main interest for this group is that U Beaut dyes & hard shellac were used and the top sprayed with nitrocellulose lacquer.

For the Technically minded –

Warmoth Neck: Mahogany with Rosewood fingerboard

Scale: 24 ¾”

Warmoth Body: Mahogany with flamed maple laminated top

Tuners: Schaller, locking

Pickups Neck: DiMarzio ‘Humbucker from Hell’ DP156

Bridge: DiMarzio Virtual PAF (bridge) DP197

Bridge,Tailpiece: Gotoh tune-O-matic. TonePros locking tailpiece Studs

Strap pins: Schaller Strap Lock

Wiring: 1 vol (treble roll off) 2 tone. Coil cut. 3 way P/U Selector

Finish Neck: Water-soluble dye stains on timber, then 'hard’shellac. Satin finish as per p64 Polishers’ Handbook. Headstock rubbed to gloss.

Water soluble dye stain on timber, shellac seal, Spray can VHT nitrocellulose lacquer rubbed 600 up to 1200 grit, then Meguair’s Mirror Glaze No 2, No9, No7

Body: Water-soluble dye stains on timber, then ‘hard’ shellac. Satin finish as per p64 Polishers’ Handbook

Despite my crappy soldering everything works. I must say the bridge pickup is just murderous. The fattest treble in the world – if you like paradoxes. Best thing I’ve heard in years!! LOL!!

A nice bit of work Fanlee... I love the flame on the drop-top and an excellent finish you have on it :)
