could anybody help me with the formula for the rise at bow and stern of a sheered boot top. I remember seeing years ago in a Epicraft paint pamphlet.

Mate, I don't even know what you're talking about.

I guess that makes me even less use than usual.

The boot top is the contrasting stripe just above the waterline.
When the boot top is done properly It has a greater vertical hieght at the bow and stern.

I've done it by keeping the width of the boot top in the same ratio to the paint work above the waterline at different points along the hull. Example if in the centre of the hull it is 1 metre from the water line to the gunwhale and you want a 100mm boot top , at any point along hull keep the boot top to 10% of the distance from the waterline to the gunwhale.
