I need to find a supplier of thin cut Oak (1/8" thickness) or indeed any other similar hardwood. There are a few companies in the US that seem to specialise in this type of wood but I can't find any company in the UK. Where do you think is the best type of place to go? A lumber yard, a joiners? The Oak would need to be finished e.g sanded and I am thinking that the average lumber yard would not be able to supply.

I'd suggest you try a few of the UK based Wood Work discussion sites (www/..../uk). What you want is a woodworker with their own, fairly well equipped shed - say a 14" bandsaw, a thicknesser or a wide drum sander should do. A 'cabinet shop' would be charging you for labour, insurance etc etc, but a keen woodie is likely to be able to help for, say, some of his favourite beverage.

I'm afraid I'm a bit far away (Sydney Australia) as are most of the members here - we kidnapped one of the UK members - JOW106 - and are holding him & his wife guest for a few months.:D :D But the airfare would add quite a bit to your costs:p
