was cleaning up some old casement windows today, getting rid of the old putty, using a wide chisel for the stubborn stuff...kept my left hand clear or so I thought, the chisel hit a hard patch of putty, slipped and sliced a nice 5cm gash on my hand between thumb and forefinger :( four stitches later and I still can't believe I did that...
luckily the tetanus shot hurts more...

Ouchie!
At least you did not take the thumb off... and was the nurse a looker or did you get the same sort that I get when I venture onto the stoopid side of the safety barrier?
Hope you recover quickly and have your revenge on the damned putty.

That's gonna leave a nice scar mate. Reckon you need to ice that hand with a few cold stubbies . It might be good for pain relief.

OOO
That looks like it was deep.
hopefully no tendon damage.
hows the feeling.
Did you watch sewing up?
Did you look inside?
Did you nearly pass out?
Yours looks nastier.... the stiching in mine is neater I think.:D
Tidy job all the same.

OOO
That looks like it was deep.
Deep enough, probably went in about a centimeter or more judging by the mark on the chisel and looking at it afterwards...
hopefully no tendon damage.
None that I can feel so far :)
hows the feeling.
Its feeling fine, no soreness except right on the scar. There was no pain even when I first did it, just a bit of stinging. The real pain was when they stuck the bloody needles into it before stitching :(
Did you watch sewing up?
Nope, was lying down
Did you look inside?
Yep, pretty gross looking, I dont think surgery is my game, I could see muscles and tendons but none were damaged...
Did you nearly pass out?
Nope, not even close, but thats the reason why they made me lie down to stitch it up, had too many fellas passing out on them when they had said they'll be right :D
Yours looks nastier.... the stiching in mine is neater I think.:D
Yep, my beautiful hand is now scarred, I think I will tell any future kids that it was gotten in a knife fight in a bar somewhere, its better than saying 'your father was a clumsy richardhead!'
Tidy job all the same.
cheers
and I still can't believe I did it...

I did that in First Form (now called year 7). Haven't done it since. Hope you have the same experience! Mine wasn't as deep as that though.
