I recently had Tas Blackwood quoted to me: 1500 x 200 x 30-ish
price from several sources was $30 a metre.
I'm looking for 3 pieces Blackwood that size. If you want to get shot of it at substantially less than that I'd take it off your hands - bearing in mind that freight is costly (Aus Post won't accept parcels over 1m long).
One quote for post from Melbourne to me (900kms) was $120 eek!!
Cheers

slab timber of good size/quality and stable can fetch up to $3500 per cubic metre, possibly more, but it's only worth what someone will pay for it.

If you want some better idea of it, give some specific photo's with dimensions and I'm sure between Exador, myself and others in the 'know' of slab timber can help you out with realistc prices.

The price you've been quoted is about $5000/cube, which seems pretty ridiculous, unless they're dressing down some considerably thicker stock? If it was based on 200x50, the price is only $3000 a cube, with no component for the additional dressing. Did you specify a dimension?

Hi Craig
That was a quote for ROUGHSAWN. . .
I got 3 quotes:
One from Brittons in Melbourne
One from Estate timbers in Adelaide
and one from a fellow forumite
All around the $30 mark - plus freight approx $100 (more like fright. . !!)
Cheers
