Here's a picture of last weekends woodworking project.
A CD/DVD/Video tower.
Pine wood with 1 coat of clear polyurethane to retain the 'pine' look and colour.
Am still contemplating whether to fill in the top arch with a clock or not :)

how about a cuckoo mechanism.
It would certainly create a wow factor instead of an ordinary clock.
You might have to buy an antique clock though, I have never seen any cuckoo clocks advertised lately.

Would be nice, but too expensive if the kids tried to pull the thing over :)

Dean,
Nice piece of work.
I have found both the single tower & multiple towers popular with family & others.
This one was done in re-cycled Jarrah

Looks great Dean. Similar to a dollshouse bookcase I made for my daughter. When she gets older I'll just take the roof off and use it as a regular bookcase or perhaps a CD / Video stand like yours. I made this from old machinery packing cases.

nice...
well it has a bit of an industrial look to it... very suitable considering the source of the material :)

Thus the name woodbutcher. I am working on my skills to become a bit more of wood surgeon. The daughter likes it and the timber was free. Good practice too.
Regards Nick
P.S. also made a large bookcase from the same source materials, better looking than the knots pine stuff and should last forever.

we all had to start somewhere! :)
I was testing out my miter saw with my CD Tower... worked ok.
