want to make a home built scraper plaine

I want to build a scraper plaine, has anybody here made one.
I would like to ask what thickness of scraper is good to use for a "blade". I have a basic set of scrapers 3 thicknesses and one of those curvie shaped ones. I was thinking I could use one if it was of the right thickness.

Wow I started to go through your bass building photos, what a super tutorial, it made me whant to build one myself, but I can not even play a kazoo.
Have you come across any carbon fiber bass? Could be another project for you.
