Hi

Can anyone suggest lubrication for an old - possibly beech - marker gauge?

Both the wooden screw and the head are binding.

Thanks!

I notice you're still reading this, Zetorpilot.

Try candle wax

Old Craftsmen used to rub the threads up and down the sides of their noses for some body oil. Of course olde craftsmen didn't practice good hygene in those days. I would also suggest candle wax or Paste wax. Or Ear Wax if you dig some out. :D
