Hello,
I have a little problem that I hope someone can help with.
I have a metal piece that is going to the chromers that has some small divots/indentations in it .
I am looking for a quality finish and was wondering how I might fill the divots/pitting marks.
If I fill the marks with solder ,will the chrome cover solder???.
I do not want to braze the piece as the filing and polishing with take a long time.
Hope someone can help??

Steve

bad news, there isnt an easy way to fill these, as any easy was gets cleaned out in the cleaning process....

The best way is to bronze and file (I know its a shed load of work but do you want a quick job or a good job...)

The other solution, would be for you to get the plater to get it to the brass plate stage (Get him to give it a really heavy coat, then file back and return it to the plater for finishing....

Remember, the better the bit you give the plater, the less he charges you, so if you can clean it and polish it before you give it to him, they will usually charge you less as it means less of the crappy work they have to do.
