The current issue of Shopnotes magazine (Vol. 15, Issue 90) has a plan to build a "3-in-one multi-tool" for your palm or trim router. This will allow you to use your small router as a table or horizontal table mounted beast. Suggested uses are edge jointing and mortising among others.
