Anyone know where I can get a pattern for Cabriole Legs. Plan on making a chest of drawers and it will need cabriole legs.

If you're feeling masochistic it is possible to turn a "pseudo" cabriole leg by using off-centre turning.

I've tried... once. Frankly, the bandsawn method gives far, far better results. However I still use off-centre turning to create "cabriole style" or "balled" feet suitable for carving into lion's paws, etc.

Here in the states, we call them Dutch Feet. (the off-center turned foot) (Wonder what the dutch call them?) Done simply by turning the bottom on center and making a rounded end Then set the tail center off center and you can see the shape of the leg as a shadow, Simply smooth down the "Shadow" leaving a foot.

Fun project using a set of them for a stool, or table, or chair, or something. I have Four ready to finish into a stool when my collection of round-2-its gets here.
