To my knowledge, you are out of luck with online kits in Australia. If you want online, then you have to source from UK or USA. Here's some links to get you going. UK (http://www.hobbies-plus.co.uk/acatalog/Marquetry_Kits___Accessories.html) and USA. (http://www.woodcraftersstore.com/us/catalogue/default.php?cPath=65)
Having said that, The Marquetry Society of Victoria do have some kits available for purchase, and we are Melbourne based (Box Hill).

Our website is here (http://www.marquetryvic.org.au), and you are free to pm me if you want more info.

Are you after a picture to follow. or just a variety of veneers to use?
If it is just veneers, I supply packs suitable for marquetry @ $30 each plus $15 P & H. But you have to use you your own artistic skills.
cheers,

uummm whats a marquetry kit?

me I thought you just bought some different veneers found a pattern imagination drawing whatever copied it onto the veneers sort the colors till your happy then cut out the pics drawing pattern whatever with a sharp deadly blade of some sort or other then spray some water on the finish side and watered down glue splashed all over the sticking side of it (and a peice or peices for the reverse side of the board your veneering to) and get some moulds or cut some ply to totally fit over the whole thing (known to me as forms or moulds) then CLAMP the buggary out of it all

when dry take clamps and forms off... whallah!! one veneered artwork! :2tsup: yeah yeah then you gots to sand it an finish it but hey thats normal for any woodworking no?

So whats a kit got? :? Please dont tell me Ive missed something AGAIN??? strewth I hate that!

Hi, I have only just read this thread. I brought a pack from these guys at the Wood Show in Brisbane in April. They sell packs or special matching pieces.
