has anyone ever attempted to make a fence system with a similar idea to the Incra one for their router table. With accurate re-peatable settings

Gday Andrew, didn't get around to it but ruminated for a while on making something like what you're talking about.
I was thinking along the lines of a leadscrew with a half nut that can be engaged & disengaged from it.
Have you seen the original Incra jig? (has been re-released in the last year black in
colour)
The two halves lock together accurately & strongly when the knob is done up. This is what would be needed, some means of keeping the jig in parallel alignment (hope that makes sense) when it is locked down.
Maybe something like the brass rails running in grooves in one of Rocker's jigs & in Pat Warners precision router fence.
