I have a 14' putt putt built by L Rossiter of Emily St Prospect.
I'd like to know more about this builder. I saw an 18er being worked on at the Armfield slip at the last SA Wooden Boat festival but no-one had much idea about the builder.
My boat is 14' long, 6' wide with about a 12" draught. It had a Blaxland twin when I bought it but I got sick of it breaking every time I started it. I sold it to a wooden boat fanatic who no doubt has it ticking like a clock. Anyway, since I just want to use the boat rather than tinker, I replaced it with an air-cooled Honda 6.5 hp 4 stroke driving a 10 X 6 folding prop.
While this is probably blasphemy to many purists, the Honda runs well and the folding prop allows me to sail too.
Anything you know about L Rossiter would be nice.

Thanks

Try White Pages online Beavis, you will find many people with this name, living right in the heart of the Wooden Boat waters.

I did find a dead link about Rossiter's making rowing boats, but what's the use of a dead link?

I will keep looking into this myself for an interest, having once owned a Clausen copy.

Gday..........being slow and old (and fossilised)....have just found this oldy and just wondering if you may know where I might be able to find old photo's/stories etc regarding Clausens.......paid $500 for a 4.5m "gem" about 6 years ago which cost me 10 months and $5000 to put back in the water.....and as it catches fish nice and dry and comfy.....have not had much luck online tracing its beginnings!
Thanking you,
