I am confused and would like advice on the best silver solder suitable for joining bandsaw blades.
I have seen rolls of silver solder with 2%, 4% silver content and rods of silver solder with 5%, 15% silver content.
I have been told that Borax is a suitable flux.
What is the essential requirement when soldering - to have a hard join or a soft join to flex as blade goes around the wheels?

use 50% s/solderand gp flux .ithink its blue tip . expensive but worth it . the strip s/s will work harden and break ,do my own blades as live away from saw doctor. and usually they are blunt ,before they break . you can melt with portagas burner ,but better with oxy lpg, good luck bob
